Went for a walk with my wife on the beach in Zushi today. I took as many photos as I could before my wife told me to put the camera away and just enjoy the walk.
Actually, it wasn't a "camera." It was my Nokia mobile phone. Hence I wasn't able to take any nice zoom shots.
Some of you will no-doubt realize that this isn't really Tokyo. In fact, it's not Tokyo at all. It's Zushi, Kanagawa Prefecture. But, hey, Zushi is pretty much the closest beach there is to Tokyo, so I think it qualifies.
That's Mt. Fuji you can see in some of the shots. And right in front of Mt. Fuji is Enoshima. The little sailboats you can see in the middle of the bay are Laser-class boats. It's usually the Keio University sailing club that is out there training on them.
I'll stop rambling now. Enjoy!

This is really impressive for a mobile phone. Puts my iPhone to shame! Nice...

Thanks. The camera is great on a bright, clear day - like this was. Not so good when there's less light.

Thanks all. It's actually a lot nicer to walk on the beach in Zushi in the winter - when you don't have the crowds and all the stalls (umi-no-ie) lining the beach.

Certainly enough wind for those surfers. Was at the Marina filming a commercial a few weeks ago and nearly froze standing there. Was shocked by the amount of Hawks circling. Or are those birds called Red Kites? Dozens and dozens of them at one point.

I think they're called Black Kites in English - tobi (=tonbi) in Japanese. They patrol the length of the Shonan coastline, unfortunately. They can be pretty scary - especially when you're trying to eat something on the beach. Like, before you know it they will swoop in and grab stuff out of your hands. I saw a friend have an ice-cream cone snatched once. If you're going to have a picnic down there, best to get a spot next to the wall at the back of the beach... Or use a beach umbrella
